Fort Canning - Holistic Living Wellness Weekend (27-28 May)
Organised by Healthy Times, I thought it was a wholesome wellness fair. It turned out different from what I thought. The place was swarmed with practitioners of the dark arts. Well, there were chiropracters, beauty spas, organic teas, ice-cream, a hypnotic therapy area, cosmic fortune reading, palm reading & whatnots.
I almost freaked out....well, not really. we had some fun too!

Farrer Park Sports Challenge 2006 Pics
The night before....no over exertion, no junk food, no late nights, no shopping, no whatever...
It was Bambi's first competition, & I think I'm more "kan jiong" than her (I was just the unofficial photographer). IMD wanted to join the Farrer Park Sports Team challange, & Bambi was "arrowed" for the job. After a lot of arguments, they finally called themselved the "Firefly" (it was originally the housefly haha)
Team: Firefly
Team mates: B&B (One "B" took swimming while the other "B" took running)
Swimming came before the run, so Ben took the lead. I love the 4 pics below. Check out the stories...

Bambi waiting patiently together with the other contestants for their partners

Bambi still waiting patiently with a few more contestants....

"All by myself"...Bambi waiting by herself....

Time keeper

FINALLY! She's off like the wind!

Actually, Ben didn't do too badly; swam 8 laps in 7 minutes. Photos can be so deceiving! Bambi did 2 laps in 27 minutes. I was standing by waiting for her cruise by her 1st lap. She came through the wrong way into the "finishing line". People aound me started clapping & the clapping & shouting ceased gradually when they realised she came through the wrong way. oh well.....

My Champion! (at least she completed her race!)

2 WEDDINGS and A VERY STUFFED BELLY...

2 colleagues decided to get married on the same weekend. Towards the end of Sunday night, I was so stuffed with food (literally) that I think I should just survive on h2o the next few days. Sigh....a typical case of "spirit is willing but the flesh is weak".....
Joanne's Wedding was held at Furama Riverfront Hotel. It was an uncomplicated affair, with her solomnisation just before dinner. She opted for a casual buffet style, & the event ended by 9PM. Hassle-free & light-hearted; I like the "lao niang" style!

An evening of makan, chats, & then makan somemore....(Gwan Choon & I attacked the desserts 1st. Check out Bambi's plate...)

Ivy's Big Day was held at Singapore Expo.....I wanna cry.....Met Bambi halfway at the VRP retail centre & we both hopped on the train to Singapore Expo. Michelle, Bambi & I were seated by about 745 pm. 3 rounds of peanuts, red wine, tea, orange juice & what nots later, Bambi suddenly announced that dinner was about to commence (she saw the groom standing near the entrance hallway).

Guess what? The "groom" turned up to be Finian. Bambi mistaken him for the groom because of his suit! Sigh.... At least Michelle & I have something to laugh at while munching the peanuts ... Dinner started around 845 pm. Food was nice; dessert was good (yam with gingko & coconut milk). Too bad my dessert partner Gwan Choon wasn't there; I think we can finish the whole bowl (for 10) between us. yum....

Falling in love with Max-E all over again!
I was feeling sooo tired yesteday & I wanted to "nuar" (aka rot; waste away; laze around & do nothing) the day away. It was the weekly Thursday nite run & I didn't feel up to it. I wondered what the problem was. Even another cup of a strongly brewed kopi-o didn't help....until I took a long-forgotten multivitamin drink called "Max E". I ended up running yesterday night. Today, I took Max-E again & am feeling pretty good. Hence, I decided to write about it....
I'm currently working in a Health Supplement company, but I really dislike popping pills. Well, other than the obvious fact that I'm pretty "nuar", I don't bother remembering when I need to pop my pills. While I believe that not everybody need to take supplements, I think multivitamins will be an exception. Why? Simply because everybody will not have the same body condition or suffer from the same disease, but everyone will need multivitamins.

I started taking multivitamins a couple of years ago. I tried various brands of multivits (centrum, unicity, gnc, nature's farm, vrp etc), & my all-time favourite has got to be Max-E. This is the only multivit I've taken so far with very visible results & effects.

Max-E has got every essential minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, natural herbs etc etc. It even chelates heavy metals, detoxification & improve blood circulation.

The only thing I didn't like is that Max-E comes in powder form (orange flavored). I MUST mix it with orange or lime juice before drinking it. Pretty yucky if you gobble it with plain water...

This mega bottle can last me for a solid 2 months!

Here's an excerpt I've read from the Harvard School of Public Health:
"There are nearly 40 vitamins, minerals & dietary components that your body needs but cannot manufacture in sufficient amounts. These essential vitamins & minerals help keep billions of cells healthy & encourage them to grow & reproduce....these essentials are often called micronutrients because your body needs only tiny amounts of them. Yet failing to get even those small quantities virtually guarantees disease..."

Kopi the Cute
I decided to showcase my pet dog Kopi in my very 1st blog.
The pictures were taken when she was a wee 3 month old pup. Even now as she approached 4, her antics & child like sweetness is nothing short of enchanting.

Enjoy....

Description of Kopi: Coffee (Chinese Dialect)
- Coffee (pronounced "cough fee") in English language
- pronounced "car fay" in Mandarin
- pronounced "cold pee" in Hokkien (Chinese dialect)

Cute & knowing it...
